The First Annual Christmas Eve Run - 24 December 2005
Ah, the joys of living in Florida during the winter. What started out as one of those "spur of the moment" kind of things, turned out to be a very enjoyable afternoon of running trains. Pete decided to bring out the "Mohawk" and do some serious running. Bob Dean arrived and gave his Central of Georgia "Northern" a real work out. Bruce "the track master" Raykiewicz fired up his ever faithful Erie "Atlantic". and to round out this quartet, Brian Masters showed them all how to haul heavy freight with his 0-4-0 "Porter". In addition we had the pleasure of many visitors, co-workers of Pete and Bob's. A couple of the guys got to try their hand running the "Mohawk", and I am pretty sure they left being "bitten" by the live steam bug. The tracks unofficial general superintendent, Don Pierson was impressed with the turnout, but equally dismayed when he realized that no track work was going to get done. This was one bunch of men wishing Santa would fill their stockings with coal! Enjoy the photo's here and on the HOME page. Peace.
Bruce's Atlantic needed a little help with that heavy train. Actually the switcher was dead and provided enough weight to get that engine barking good!
Action!
Traffic was getting heavy. Here we see the obligatory Christmas Teddy Bear getting a ride.
Bob's Northern ran flawlessly all day. It is one beautifully crafted engine
